Our review:Item Description:30' Electric Guitar with classic style hardwood body
Editorial Review:This lacquered child's guitar is a great first instrument for young enthusiasts, or kids who just want to jam with an adult. It embodies every feature professional electric guitars do; all parents need to supply are lessons. At 30 inches, it's not intimidating but inviting. Its just the right size for elementary school amateurs, but its small, smooth body (including a solid maple neck and fingerboard), real steel strings, and 'vintage' coil make it sound and feel as real as a grownup's guitar. A headphone jack can be used for speakers, and the output jack next to it can be used for the amplifier.

Adequate Learner - musical with some rework
This is a toy. It is not a quality musical instrument. However, my husband spent 1 hour on my son's guitar and made it really usable. First, he disassembled the neck from the body and shimmed it so that the neck is true under the tension of the strings. This lowered the action significantly, which improved ease of play and the problem of bending the strings sharp in order to have them make contact with the neck. Next, he took the speaker out and put some felt around the underside of the speaker rim to stop a rattle. Finally, he removed and remounted the bridge by filling the old holes with dowels, moving the bridge back about 1/8 inch and then remounting it. This allowed for correct intonation adjustment of the bridge. Now, the guitar will tune and maintains intonation all the way up the neck. It is an awesome size and concept with its built-in speaker. This is perfect for a young beginner. If only it was built originally with the care and quality my husband put into it, then it'd be a perfect score product.

Didn't last long because the amp blew.
My son loved making lots of noise on this guitar but the amp no longer works after only a few months and now he can't use it all. I would not recommend this product.

My 5 year old son loves playing this guitar!
My son, James, received this lovely blue guitar for his 5th Birthday from his Nana, Anne Reilly. He states almost everyday that he loves this guitar so much. He loves the fact that the guitar has a built in amplifier with speaker. I am just thrilled James loves playing this guitar everyday, while singing songs and dancing around.....that to me is what childhood is about...being happy!!

Expensive for a toy, very poor as an instrument
I purchased this guitar for my young boys. The strings don't stay in tune long enough to tune them all together. I put lighter strings and new tuners on it, but that did not help. I didn't expect much, but it should at least be able to be tuned.
